At the beginning of this year, this blog started getting some traffic and just more out of curiosity than anything else, I put some Google AdSense ads up in a side bar. Personally, I use Firefox with AdBlock, so I don’t even see them most of the time. Anyhow, for some reason people see some of these ads and click on them. That never ceases to amaze me, but that’s cool. So, this past month I finally crossed the $100 mark which is when Google, my sugar daddy, starts paying out.

Last week a guy contacted me about putting some ads on a few pages for a small chunk of money. I had some reservations and we negotiated back and forth and I eventually said ok. Today he sent me the “ads” and they were the purest SEO-gaming spam drivel. I just couldn’t do it. I told him to take a hike.

This has triggered me to actually think about the ads again. Given the amount of traffic that certain posts and pages get, I think some of those pages are likely worth quite a bit more to the right company. If you’d be willing to pay me to put up either sidebar ads or ads on my Java 7 page for something targeted to Java developers, email me and let’s talk. I’m really just looking to pay my hosting costs and get some small return on the time I put into it and I’d be perfectly content with that.
