Dvořák this Saturday in St. Louis

30 Oct 2008

This is a non-tech announcement for those in St. Lou….

The St. Louis Civic Orchestra will be presenting its first concert of the season at Logan University in Chesterfield.

Saturday Nov. 1st, 8 pm
Purser Center, Logan University
Adult $10    Student $5

We’ll be playing:

  • SmetnaThe Moldau
  • DvořákViolin Concerto in A Minor with Vítězslav Černoch
  • DvořákSymphony No. 9 in E Minor “New World”

That’s a lot of great music and a blast to play (you can find me in the viola section). Vítězslav Černoch is an internationally acclaimed soloist and recording artist from the Czech Republic and based on rehearsals, he’ll knock your socks off.

This is the first performance under our new name, “St. Louis Civic Orchestra”. Formerly, we were known as the Clayton Symphony and going farther back, the Kirkwood Symphony. Regardless of name, this is an orchestra with a tradition stretching back almost 50 years.
