It’s that time again. I was caught without much time to prep for this month’s music club so my mix is all over the map. Sue me.
- Believe in Me – Sloan. A great tune that starts off with a rocking guitar lick and has sort of an anthem-rock feel. Or at least anthem-rock in a Canadian style.
- Lowlife – Scanners. I know nothing about this band or even how I got it in my iTunes but I happened across it and it struck my fancy.
- Big Time – Peter Gabriel. The previous tune had an 80’s feel (to me at least) and for some reason this came to mind. Best listened to in the spring with car windows down, but good anytime.
- Higher Ground – Red Hot Chili Peppers. Transitioning into some funky power stuff.
- Take the Power Back – Rage Against the Machine. Sometimes you just need to bust some Rage and wake things up.
- Alexander in Charge – Tub Ring. These guys from Chicago rock.
- Bonin’ in the Boneyard – Vallejo. Getting funky with the boys from Austin.
- Funky President – James Brown. In honor of our new funky president.
- Victor – Alex Lifeson. Alex is the guitarist for Rush and I had forgotten how much I liked his solo album. This is a creepy story with good music.
- Driven – Rush. A great live version.
- Down There By the Train – Tom Waits. Cause damn, Tom Waits is just one of the most talented and unique guys out there.
- The Saga Begins – Weird Al Yankovic. Recently my 4 year old has become obsessed with listening to this American Pie do-over of Star Wars.
